Laurel House is owned and run by the husband and wife team of Jeff & Alex Fazal. Built in 1750, this traditional Cumbrian farmhouse offers a warm welcome & a tranquil stay for the discerning traveller. The elegant and spacious bedrooms are well appointed with either Kingsize or Superkingsize beds - each has a private bathroom or shower room supplied with heated towel rails and quality toiletries. All rooms have tea/coffee facilities along with comfortable seating areas supplied with armchairs and footstools. Alex's traditional Cumbrian breakfasts, along with Jeff's homemade bread, were awarded a Visit Britain Breakfast Award in 2010, and are served in our Orangery conservatory. They consist of fresh fruit, quality locally sourced produce, fresh coffee/breakfast tea and a vegetarian option. The comfort and ambience of Laurel House was recognised with a Visit Britain 4 Star Gold Award in 2010, followed by a prestigious 5 Star Award in 2011. Just 10 minutes drive from J40 of the M6, we are ideally placed for visiting family staying at Center Parcs, or as an overnight stay on the way to Scotland. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children under 16, or pets.
